Biography

Roy H. Kissin, MBA
Managing Member, Capital Capital Advisors LLC

Roy was born in 1957 in Spokane, WA.  His family relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1969.  After graduating from San Ramon Valley High School in Danville, CA, Roy attended Stanford University on an athletic scholarship, becoming an NCAA All-American in Track and Field and a two-time U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier in the distance events.  He graduated from Stanford in 1979 with a degree in Classics.

Prior to entering the field of financial planning and investment management, Roy spent the better part of two decades as an independent motion picture and television producer.  His producing credits include the feature films A MATTER OF DEGREES, THE LISA THEORY, SIGNAL 7, and ON THE EDGE.

Roy also served as Supervising Producer of the audio visual installations for the 1995 Grand Opening of the Rock + Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, OH, and as a Segment Producer on the groundbreaking animated series LIQUID TELEVISION for MTV.

While pursuing his film career, Roy also earned an MBA in 1995 from the Graduate School of Business at St. Mary's College in Moraga, CA.  Roy's graduate studies unearthed a latent interest in finance, economics, and statistics that eventually led to his career change.  Although the two fields may seem unrelated, Roy's experience in the capital intensive, entrepreneurial environment of the motion picture and television industry enabled him to hone skills vital to his success as a financial planner and investment manager.

Starting from scratch, Roy founded Capital Capital Advisors LLC in 1998.  The firm has grown steadily, and now manages over $40 million in client assets.

Roy resides in the Marin County town of Corte Madera, CA with his wife BZ Petroff, children Peter and Sonia, and dogs Buster and Iggy Pup.  At age 53, he can still run a 5:00 mile.
